Hadith 4525
Adi bin Adi Kindi narrates: Once, Sayyiduna Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) was traveling away from the army, and during this time he met two men who were also separated from the army. Sayyiduna Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O two men! Whenever three people gather in such a place, one of them should be appointed as a leader, so appoint one of you as your leader. Both of them said: O Abu Darda, you are the leader. So Sayyiduna Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Rather, you both are the leaders. I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say this: "Whenever a guardian of three people will be presented before Allah Almighty, his right hand will be tied. If he has acted justly, it will be untied, and if he has acted unjustly, the hand will remain tied."
