Chapter on Caliphate and Leadership - On the recommendation for the leader to give wealth to those he hopes will accept Islam
Hadith 4502
سَمِعْتُ أَبَا بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْخٍ بِوَاسِطَ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ عُبَيْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَائِشَةَ ، يَقُولُ : أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنّ أَعْرَابِيًّا سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَأَمَرَ لَهُ بِغَنَمٍ " . ذَكَرَ ابْنُ عَائِشَةَ كَثْرَتَهَا ، فَأَتَى الأَعْرَابِيُّ قَوْمَهُ ، وَقَالَ : يَا قَوْمِ أَسْلِمُوا ، فَإِِنَّ مُحَمَّدًا يُعْطِي عَطَاءَ مَنْ لا يَخَافُ الْفَقْرَ .
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A Bedouin asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) for something, so the Prophet (peace be upon him) ordered that he be given sheep. Here, the narrator named Ibn ‘A’ishah mentioned the abundance of these sheep. The Bedouin went back to his people and said: O people of my tribe, accept Islam, for Muhammad (peace be upon him) gives so much that there is no fear of poverty after it.
