Hadith 4489
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " كُلُّكُمْ رَاعٍ ، وَكُلُّكُمْ مَسْئُولٌ : فَالأَمِيرُ رَاعٍ عَلَى النَّاسِ وَهُوَ مَسْئُولٌ ، وَالرَّجُلُ رَاعٍ عَلَى أَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ وَهُوَ مَسْئُولٌ ، وَالْمَرْأَةُ رَاعِيَةٌ عَلَى بَيْتِ زَوْجِهَا وَهِيَ مَسْئُولَةٌ ، وَالْعَبْدُ رَاعٍ عَلَى مَالِ سَيِّدِهِ وَهُوَ مَسْئُولٌ ، أَلا فَكُلُّكُمْ رَاعٍ وَكُلُّكُمْ مَسْئُولٌ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Each of you is a shepherd and each of you will be questioned about his flock. The ruler is a shepherd over his subjects and he will be questioned about them. A man is a shepherd over the people of his house and he will be questioned about them. And a servant is a shepherd over his master's wealth and he will be questioned about it. Beware! Each of you is a shepherd and each of you will be questioned about his flock."
