Hadith 4452
أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى السَّخْتِيَانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُقْرِئُ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ ، حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ الأَشَجِ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جَابِرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ بْنِ نِيَارٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " لا جَلْدَ فَوْقَ عَشْرَةِ أَسْوَاطٍ فِيمَا دُونَ حَدٍّ مِنْ حُدُودِ اللَّهِ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Burdah bin Niyar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Other than the limits set by Allah, no one may be given more than ten lashes (as punishment for any offense)."
