Hadith 4400
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي مَعْشَرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ الْبَزَّازُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَبِي أُنَيْسَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ الْمَكِّيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْهِضْهَاضِ الدَّوْسِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ مَاعِزُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ إِِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : إِِنَّ الأَبْعَدَ قَدْ زَنَى . فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " وَيْلَكَ ، وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ مَا الزِّنَى ؟ " ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بِهِ فَطُرِدَ وَأُخْرِجَ ، ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ الثَّانِيَةَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِِنَّ الأَبْعَدَ قَدْ زَنَى . فَقَالَ : " وَيْلَكَ ، وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ مَا الزِّنَى ؟ " فَطُرِدَ وَأُخْرِجَ ، ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ الثَّالِثَةَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِِنَّ الأَبْعَدَ قَدْ زَنَى . قَالَ : " وَيْلَكَ ، وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ مَا الزِّنَى ؟ " قَالَ : أَتَيْتُ امْرَأَةً حَرَامًا مِثْلَ مَا يَأْتِي الرَّجُلُ مِنِ امْرَأَتِهِ . فَأَمَرَ بِهِ فَطُرِدَ وَأُخْرِجَ ، ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ الرَّابِعَةَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِِنَّ الأَبْعَدَ قَدْ زَنَى . قَالَ : " وَيْلَكَ ، وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ مَا الزِّنَى ؟ " قَالَ : " أَدْخَلْتَ وَأَخْرَجْتَ ؟ " قَالَ : نَعَمْ . فَأَمَرَ بِهِ أَنْ يُرْجَمَ ، فَلَمَّا وَجَدَ مَسَّ الْحِجَارَةِ تَحَمَّلَ إِِلَى شَجَرَةٍ ، فَرُجِمَ عِنْدَهَا حَتَّى مَاتَ ، فَمَرَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ مَعَهُ نَفَرٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ ، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنْهُمْ لِصَاحِبِهِ : وَأَبِيكَ إِِنَّ هَذَا لَهُوَ الْخَائِبُ ، أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِرَارًا ، كُلُّ ذَلِكَ يَرُدَّهُ حَتَّى قُتِلَ كَمَا يَقْتُلُ الْكَلْبُ . فَسَكَتَ عَنْهُمَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى مَرَّ بِجِيفَةِ حِمَارٍ شَائِلَةٌ رِجْلُهَا ، فَقَالَ : " كُلا مِنْ هَذَا " . قَالا : مِنْ جِيفَةِ حِمَارٍ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " فَالَّذِي نِلْتُمَا مِنْ عِرْضِ أَخِيكُمَا أَكْثَرُ ، وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِيَدِهِ ، إِِنَّهُ لَفِي نَهَرٍ مِنْ أَنْهَارِ الْجَنَّةِ يَتَقَمَّصُ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Ma'iz came to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: A man from afar has committed adultery. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: Woe to you, do you know what adultery is? Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered regarding him, so he was sent away from there. Then he came a second time to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! The man from afar has committed adultery. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Woe to you, do you know what adultery is? He was again sent away from there. Then he came a third time to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! The man from afar has committed adultery. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Woe to you, do you know what adultery is? He said: I have done with a woman unlawfully the same act that a man does with his wife. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered regarding him, so he was sent away from there. He came a fourth time to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! The man from afar has committed adultery. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Woe to you, do you know what adultery is? Did you enter and withdraw? He replied: Yes. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered regarding him that he be stoned. When stones began to hit him, he took shelter behind a tree, then he was stoned to death at that tree until he died. After that, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was passing by, accompanied by some of his companions. One of them said to his companion: By your father, this man is doomed to loss; he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) several times, and each time the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent him back, until he was killed in such a way as a dog is killed. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent regarding both of them until he passed by the carcass of a donkey whose leg was raised upwards. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Eat from it, both of you. They said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Should we eat the carcass of a donkey? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The attack you made on your brother's honor is a greater sin than this. By Him in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, that man is now diving in the rivers of Paradise.
