ذكر البيان بأن نذر الناذرة إذا ماتت قبل أن تفي بنذرها لبعض قرابتها قضاء ذلك النذر عنها وإن كان النذر صوما-
Clarification that if a woman dies before fulfilling her vow, her relatives may fulfill it for her, even if it was fasting
Hadith 4396
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَرُوبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْدَانَ الْحَرَّانِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَبِي أُنَيْسَةَ ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنَّ امْرَأَةً جَاءَتْ إِِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَتْ : إِِنَّ أُمِّي مَاتَتْ وَعَلَيْهَا صَوْمٌ مِنْ نَذْرٍ " . فَقَالَ لَهَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَكُنْتِ قَاضِيَةً عَنْ أُمِّكِ دَيْنًا لَوْ كَانَ عَلَيْهَا ؟ " قَالَتْ : نَعَمْ . قَالَ : " فَصُومِي عَنْ أُمِّكِ " .
Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates: A woman came to the service of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said: My mother has passed away and she was obliged to observe a fast as a vow. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said to this woman: Would you pay off the debt of your mother if it was obligatory upon her? The woman replied: Yes. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Then you should also fast on behalf of your mother.
