Hadith 4394
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا لَيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنَّ سَعْدَ بْنَ عُبَادَةَ اسْتَفْتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " فِي نَذَرٍ نَذَرَتْهُ أُمُّهُ ، ثُمَّ مَاتَتْ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَقْضِيَهُ ، فَقَالَ : اقْضِهِ عَنْهَا " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates: Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the vow which his mother had made, but she passed away before fulfilling it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Fulfill it on her behalf.
