Hadith 4384
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مَوْلَى آلِ طَلْحَةَ ، عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : إِِنَّ أُخْتِي جَعَلَتْ عَلَى نَفْسِهَا أَنْ تَحُجَّ مَاشِيَةً ؟ قَالَ : " فَمُرْهَا فَلْتَرْكَبْ وَلْتُكَفِّرْ " . قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ : يُشْبِهُ أَنْ تَكُونَ هَذِهِ جَعَلَتْ عَلَى نَفْسِهَا أَنْ تَحُجَّ مَاشِيَةً بِالْيَمِينِ ، أَوِ النَّذْرِ ، لا كَفَّارَةَ فِيهِ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: A man came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: My sister has made a vow that she will go for Hajj on foot. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Tell her to ride and give expiation. (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) There is a possibility that this woman either swore an oath or made a vow to go for Hajj on foot; however, there is no expiation in a vow.
