ذكر الزجر عن أن يحلف المرء بأبيه أو بشيء غير الله جل وعلا-
Prohibition of swearing by one’s father or anything other than Allah
Hadith 4361
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : أَدْرَكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ وَهُوَ يَحْلِفُ بِأَبِيهِ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِِنَّ اللَّهَ يَنْهَاكُمْ أَنْ تَحْلِفُوا بِآبَائِكُمْ ، فَلْيَحْلِفْ حَالَفٌ بِاللَّهِ ، أَوْ لِيَسْكُتْ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) saw Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) swearing by his father's name, so the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty has forbidden you from this. Do not swear by your forefathers' names. Whoever has to swear, should swear by the name of Allah, otherwise he should remain silent."
