Report refuting the claim that only Qatadah narrated this report
Hadith 4335
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِِسْحَاقَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سَالِمُ بْنُ نُوحٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، عَنْ زُرَارَةَ بْنِ أَوْفَى ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِِنَّ اللَّهَ تَجَاوَزَ لأُمَّتِي عَمَّا حَدَّثَتْ بِهِ أَنْفُسَهَا ، مَا لَمْ تَنْطِقْ أَوْ تَعْمَلْ بِهِ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "Indeed, Allah the Exalted has pardoned my Ummah for what thoughts occur in their minds, as long as they do not speak about them or act upon them."
