Hadith 4274
Abdullah bin Ali narrates from his father, who reports from his grandfather: He gave his wife a talaq-e-battah (irrevocable divorce) and then presented himself before the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked: What did you mean by it? He replied: One (divorce). The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked: By Allah, is it so? He replied: By Allah, it is so. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: It will be counted according to what you intended. (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The narrator named Zubair bin Saeed is Zubair bin Saeed bin Sulaiman bin Naufal bin Harith bin Abdul Muttalib. His mother is Hamadah bint Yaqub bin Saeed bin Naufal bin Harith bin Abdul Muttalib. He passed away during the caliphate of Abu Ja'far.
