Chapter: Maintenance – Permitting a woman to take from her husband’s wealth for his children without his knowledge
Hadith 4256
سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْخٍ أَبَا بَكْرٍ بِوَاسِطَ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ عُبَيْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَائِشَةَ ، يَقُولُ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : جَاءَتْ هِنْدٌ إِِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَتْ : إِِنَّ أَبَا سُفْيَانَ مُضَيِّقٌ عَلَيَّ ، وَعَلَى وَلَدِي ، أَفَآخُذُ مِنْ مَالِهِ وَهُوَ لا يَشْعُرُ ؟ قَالَ : " خُذِي مِنْ مَالِهِ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ ، وَهُوَ لا يَشْعُرُ " .
Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: Lady Hind (may Allah be pleased with her) came to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and said: Abu Sufyan has been tight with me and my children regarding expenses, so can I take something from his wealth without his knowledge? The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: Take from his wealth in a reasonable manner without his knowledge.
