Chapter: Maintenance – Another narration confirming our view
Hadith 4251
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُوسَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَتْ فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتُ قَيْسٍ : طَلَّقَنِي زَوْجِي عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لا سُكْنَى لَكِ وَلا نَفَقَةَ " .
Sayyida Fatimah bint Qais (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: During the blessed time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), my husband divorced me, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: You will not receive accommodation or maintenance.
