Hadith 4241
أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ خُزَيْمَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ الرَّازِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْجَرْمِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبْجَرَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ مُصَرِّفٍ ، عَنْ خَيْثَمَةَ ، قَالَ : كُنَّا جُلُوسًا مَعَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو إِِذْ جَاءَهُ قَهْرَمَانٌ لَهُ فَدَخَلَ ، فَقَالَ : أَعْطَيْتَ الرَّقِيقَ قُوتَهُمْ ؟ قَالَ : لا . قَالَ : فَانْطَلِقْ فَأَعْطِهِمْ ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كَفَى بِالْمَرْءِ إِِثْمًا أَنْ يَحْبِسَ عَمَّا يَمْلِكُ قُوتَهُمْ " .
Khaitamah reports: We were sitting with Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them) when his scribe came to him. Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) asked: Have you given the slaves their food? He replied: No. So Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Go and give it to them, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: It is enough of a sin for a man that he does not fulfill the rights of those whose sustenance is his responsibility.
