Chapter: Maintenance – God records charity for what a Muslim spends on his family
Hadith 4238
أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِِنَّ الْمُسْلِمَ إِِذَا أَنْفَقَ عَلَى أَهْلِهِ كَانَتْ لَهُ صَدَقَةً " .
Sayyiduna Abu Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): “Indeed, when a Muslim spends on his wife, then this thing is charity for him (that is, he will receive its reward and recompense).”
