- باب القسم - ذكر الأمر للمرء إذا تزوج على امرأته بكرا أن يقسم لها سبعا أو ثلاثا إذا كانت ثيبا ثم الاعتدال بينهما في القسمة-
Chapter: Division of time – Command to give a new bride seven days (virgin) or three (non-virgin), then alternate
Hadith 4208
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِِسْحَاقَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ مِنْ أَصْلِ كِتَابِهِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلاءِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلابَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " سَبْعٌ لِلْبِكْرِ ، وَثَلاثٌ لِلثَّيِّبِ " .
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): “(After marriage) the one who was previously a virgin will have seven days, and the one who was previously a thayyib (i.e., widow or divorced) will have three days.”
Hadith 4209
حَدَّثَنَاهُ ابْنُ خُزَيْمَةَ فِي عَقِبِهِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، قَالَ : حَفِظْنَاهُ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، مِثْلَهُ .
The same narration is also transmitted with another chain from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, from the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him.
