Chapter: Prohibition of anal intercourse – Refuting those who permit intercourse outside the place of procreation
Hadith 4197
أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو الْقُرَشِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَتِ الْيَهُودُ " إِنَّمَا يَكُونُ الْحَوَلُ إِذَا أَتَى الرَّجُلُ امْرَأَتَهُ مِنْ خَلْفِهَا ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ : نِسَاؤُكُمْ حَرْثٌ لَكُمْ فَأْتُوا حَرْثَكُمْ أَنَّى شِئْتُمْ سورة البقرة آية 223 ، مِنْ قُدَّامِهَا ، وَمِنْ خَلْفِهَا ، وَلا يَأْتِيهَا إِلا فِي الْمَأْتَى " .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with both of them) narrates: The Jews used to say: A child becomes cross-eyed when a man has intercourse with his wife from behind. So Allah Almighty revealed this verse: "Your wives are your fields; so come to your fields as you wish." This means: come from the front or come from the back, but only come to the place where one is supposed to come.
