Chapter: Marital relations – Forbidding flogging one’s wife as discipline
Hadith 4190
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَرُوبَةَ بِحَرَّانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ الْخَطَّابِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْفِرْيَابِيُّ ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَمْعَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " عَلامَ يَجْلِدُ أَحَدُكُمُ امْرَأَتَهُ جَلْدَ الْعَبْدِ ، ثُمَّ يُجَامِعُهَا فِي آخِرِ الْيَوْمِ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zam’ah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “What is the matter with someone who beats his wife as a slave is beaten, and then, at the end of the day, he has relations with her?”
