Chapter: Marital relations – Forbidding Paradise to a woman who asks for divorce without valid reason
Hadith 4184
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الأَعْلَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا وهَيْبٌ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلابَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " أَيُّمَا امْرَأَةٍ سَأَلَتْ زَوْجَهَا طَلاقَهَا مِنْ غَيْرِ بَأْسٍ ، فَحَرَامٌ عَلَيْهَا رَائِحَةُ الْجَنَّةِ .
Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Any woman who seeks divorce from her husband without (a valid Islamic) reason, the fragrance of Paradise is forbidden for such a woman."
