Ibn Abu Awfa narrates: When Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) returned from Syria, he prostrated before the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: What is this? He replied: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! I went to Syria and saw that people there prostrate before their elders and religious leaders, so I intended to do the same with you. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not do this. If I were to command anyone to prostrate before another, I would have commanded a woman to prostrate before her husband. By Him in Whose hand is my soul, a woman cannot fully fulfill the right of her Lord until she fulfills the right of her husband, to the extent that if a man demands intimacy from his wife while she is on a saddle, she should not refuse him.
