Chapter: Marital relations – Permitting intimacy in any manner as long as it is in the place of procreation
Hadith 4166
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ زُهَيْرٍ بِتُسْتَرَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ أَخْزَمَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النُّعْمَانَ بْنَ رَاشِدٍ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ : قَالَتِ الْيَهُودُ " إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ إِذَا أَتَى امْرَأَتَهُ وَهِيَ مُجَبِّيَةٌ ، جَاءَ وَلَدُهُ أَحْوَلَ ، فَنَزَلَتْ : نِسَاؤُكُمْ حَرْثٌ لَكُمْ فَأْتُوا حَرْثَكُمْ أَنَّى شِئْتُمْ سورة البقرة آية 223 إِنْ شَاءَ مُجِيبَةً ، وَإِنْ شَاءَ غَيْرَ مُجِيبَةٍ ، إِذَا كَانَ فِي صِمَامٍ وَاحِدٍ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Jews said: When a man has intercourse with his wife from behind, the child born is cross-eyed. Then this verse was revealed: "Your wives are your fields; so come to your field as you wish." (The narrator says) So now, whether a man approaches from the front or from behind, as long as the place of intercourse is the same, (there is no harm in it).
