Chapter: Prohibited marriages – Testimony of the messenger between the Prophet (peace be upon him) and Maymunah that he was not in ihram
Hadith 4135
أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ خُزَيْمَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ مَطَرٍ الْوَرَّاقِ ، عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " تَزَوَّجَ مَيْمُونَةَ وَهُوَ حَلالٌ ، وَبَنَى بِهَا وَهُوَ حَلالٌ ، وَكُنْتُ الرَّسُولَ بَيْنَهُمَا " .
Sayyiduna Abu Rafi’ (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) married Sayyidah Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her), he was not in the state of Ihram. At the time when Sayyidah Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) was sent to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), he was also not in the state of Ihram. I was performing the duties of messenger between the two of them.
