Chapter: Prohibited marriages – Prohibition of remarrying a divorced wife before she marries and consummates with another
Hadith 4122
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنِ الأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ طَلَّقَ امْرَأَتَهُ ، فَتَزَوَّجْتُ زَوْجًا غَيْرَهُ ، فَدَخَلَ بِهَا ، ثُمَّ طَلَّقَهَا قَبْلَ أَنْ يُوَاقِعَهَا ، أَتَحِلُّ لِلأَوَّلِ ؟ ، قَالَ : " لا حَتَّى يَذُوقَ عُسَيْلَتَهَا ، وَتَذُوقَ عُسَيْلَتَهُ " .
Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about a man who divorces his wife, then that woman marries another man, her marriage is consummated, then that man divorces her before having intercourse with her. Is that woman lawful for her first husband? The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No! Not until the second man tastes her honey and she tastes his honey.
