Chapter: Establishing lineage – Denial of Paradise for a woman who brings a child to a people not his father’s
Hadith 4108
أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ سَلْمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْهَادِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يُونُسَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : حِينَ أُنْزِلَتْ آيَةُ الْمُلاعَنَةِ : " أَيُّمَا امْرَأَةٍ أَدْخَلَتْ عَلَى قَوْمٍ مَنْ لَيْسَ مِنْهُمْ ، فَلَيْسَتْ مِنَ اللَّهِ فِي شَيْءٍ ، وَلَنْ يُدْخِلَهَا اللَّهُ جَنَّتَهُ ، وَأَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ جَحَدَ وَلَدَهُ ، وَهُوَ يَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِ احْتَجَبَ اللَّهُ مِنْهُ ، وَفَضَحَهُ عَلَى رُؤُوسِ الأَوَّلِينَ وَالآخِرِينَ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: He heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) saying this at the time when the verse regarding the woman who performs li'an was revealed (the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said): "Any woman who introduces into a people someone who is not of them (i.e., gives birth to an illegitimate child), she will have no connection with Allah, and Allah will not admit her into His Paradise. And whoever denies his child, knowing that it is his offspring, Allah will keep that person veiled (from mercy) and will disgrace him in the presence of all the former and later people."
