Hadith 4106
أَخْبَرَنَا حَامِدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجُ بْنُ يُونُسَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي فَزَارَةَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّ امْرَأَتِي وَضَعَتْ غُلامًا أَسْوَدَ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " هَلْ لَكَ مِنْ إِبِلٍ ؟ " ، قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : " فَمَا أَلْوَانُهَا ؟ " ، قَالَ : حُمْرٌ ، قَالَ : " هَلْ فِيهَا مِنْ أَوْرَقَ ؟ " ، قَالَ : إِنَّ فِيهَا وُرْقًا ، قَالَ : " فَأَنَّى أَتَاهُ ذَلِكَ ؟ " ، قَالَ : عَسَى أَنْ يَكُونَ نَزَعَهُ عِرْقٌ ، قَالَ : " وَهَذَا عَسَى أَنْ يَكُونَ نَزَعَهُ عِرْقٌ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man from the tribe of Banu Fazarah came to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and said: My wife has given birth to a black child. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) asked: Do you have camels? He replied: Yes. The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked: What is their color? He replied: Red. The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked: Is there any gray among them? He replied: There is one gray among them. The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked: Where did that come from? He replied: Some vein must have pulled it. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Then perhaps some vein has pulled this one too.
Hadith 4107
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّ رَجُلا مِنْ بَنِي فَزَارَةَ أَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّ امْرَأَتِي وَلَدَتْ غُلامًا أَسْوَدَ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " هَلْ لَكَ مِنْ إِبِلٍ ؟ " ، قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : " فَمَا أَلْوَانُهَا ؟ " ، قَالَ : حُمْرٌ ، قَالَ : " فَهَلْ فِيهَا مِنْ أَوْرَقٍ ؟ " ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّ فِيهَا لَوُرْقًا ، قَالَ : " فَأَنَّى تَرَاهُ ذَلِكَ ؟ " ، فَقَالَ : عَسَى أَنْ يَكُونَ نَزَعَهُ عِرْقٌ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " وَهَذَا عَسَى أَنْ يَكُونَ نَزَعَهُ عِرْقٌ " ، حَدَّثَنَاهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى ، وَقَالَ : إِنَّ أَمَتِي وَلَدَتْ ، قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ : قَوْلُهُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " هَلْ لَكَ مِنْ إِبِلٍ " ، ثُمَّ تَعْقِيبُهُ هَذِهِ اللَّفْظَةَ بِقَوْلِ : " فَمَا أَلْوَانُهَا " لَفْظَةُ اسْتِخْبَارِ عَنْ هَذَا الشَّيْءِ مُرَادُهَا الزَّجْرُ عَنِ اسْتِعْمَالِ الْمَرْءِ فِي فِرَاشِهِ بِوَسْوَسَةِ الشَّيْطَانِ إِيَّاهُ ، أَوْ بِتَبَايُنِ الصُّورَتَيْنِ عِنْدَ وُجُودِ الشَّخْصِ مِنَ الشَّخْصِ الْمُقَدَّمِ ، مَا عَسَى أَنْ يَأْثَمَ فِي اسْتِعْمَالِهِ .

The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked: What do you think, where did that come from? He replied: Perhaps some vein has pulled it. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: So here (i.e., regarding your child) also, perhaps some vein has pulled it. (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says) When the narrator named Abdullah narrated this hadith to us a second time, he reported these words: "My slave woman has given birth to a child." (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The statement of the Prophet (peace be upon him), "Do you have camels?" and then his question, "What is their color?"—literally, these words seem to be seeking information about something, but what is meant is: A person should protect himself from the whisperings of Satan regarding his children, or in such a situation, protect himself from the whisperings of Satan when the appearance of the child is different from the father, because it is possible that acting upon such whisperings may lead him to sin.
