Hadith 4094
أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى السَّخْتِيَانِيُّ بِجَرْجَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ الْقُطَيْعِيُّ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ الْفَزَارِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ كَيْسَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : إِنِّي تَزَوَّجْتُ امْرَأَةً ، فَقَالَ : " كَمْ أَصْدَقْتَهَا ؟ " ، فَقَالَ : أَرْبَعَ أَوَاقٍ ، فَقَالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَرْبَعَ أَوَاقٍ ، كَأَنَّمَا تَنْحِتُونَ الْفِضَّةَ مِنْ عَرَضِ هَذَا الْجَبَلِ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: I have married a woman. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: How much dowry did you give her? He replied: Four uqiyah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Four uqiyah is as if you have searched for silver equal to the width of this mountain.
