The Prophet (peace be upon him) serving hais at his marriage to Safiyyah
Hadith 4063
أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مَيْسَرَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ الْحَبْحَابِ ، عَنْ أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَعْتَقَ صَفِيَّةَ ، وَجَعَلَ عِتْقَهَا صَدَاقَهَا ، وَأَوْلَمَ عَلَيْهَا بِحَيْسٍ " .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) freed Lady Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) and made her freedom her dowry. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) held a wedding feast (walimah) for her with a dish of hais.
