Hadith 4054
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ إِسْحَاقَ ، يَقُولُ : حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : لَمَّا سَبَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَبَايَا بَنِي الْمُصْطَلِقِ ، وَقَعَتْ جُوَيْرِيَةُ بِنْتُ الْحَارِثِ فِي السَّهْمِ لِثَابِتِ بْنِ قَيْسِ بْنِ الشَّمَّاسِ ، أَوْ لابْنِ عَمِّهِ ، فَكَاتَبَتْ عَلَى نَفْسِهَا ، وَكَانَتِ امْرَأَةً حُلْوَةً مُلاحَةً ، لا يَكَادُ يَرَاهَا أَحَدٌ إِلا أَخَذَتْ بِنَفْسِهِ ، فَأَتَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، تَسْتَعِينُهُ فِي كِتَابَتِهَا ، فَوَاللَّهِ مَا هُوَ إِلا أَنْ وَقَفَتْ عَلَى بَابِ الْحُجْرَةِ فَرَأَيْتُهَا كَرِهْتُهَا ، وَعَرَفْتُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَيَرَى مِنْهَا مِثْلَ مَا رَأَيْتُ ، فَقَالَتْ جُوَيْرِيَةُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، كَانَ مِنَ الأَمْرِ مَا قَدْ عَرَفْتَ فَكَاتَبْتُ نَفْسِي ، فَجِئْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَسْتَعِينُهُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَوَ مَا هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِنْ ذَلِكَ ؟ " ، فَقَالَتْ : وَمَا هُوَ ؟ ، قَالَ : " أَتَزَوَّجُكِ وَأَقْضِيَ عَنْكِ كِتَابَتَكِ " ، فَقَالَتْ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : " قَدْ فَعَلْتُ " ، قَالَتْ : فَبَلَغَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ ذَلِكَ ، قَالُوا : أَصْهَارُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ ! فَأَرْسَلُوا مَا كَانَ فِي أَيْدِيهِمْ مِنْ سَبَايَا بَنِي الْمُصْطَلِقِ ، قَالَتْ : فَلَقَدْ عُتِقَ بِتَزْوِيجِهِ مِائَةُ أَهْلِ بَيْتٍ مِنْ بَنِي الْمُصْطَلِقِ ، قَالَتْ : فَمَا أَعْلَمُ امْرَأَةً كَانَتْ أَعْظَمَ بَرَكَةً عَلَى قَوْمِهَا مِنْهَا .
Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) declared the people of Banu Mustaliq, who were freed after the battle, as captives. So, Juwayriya bint al-Harith came into the share of Sayyiduna Thabit bin Qais (may Allah be pleased with him) (the narrator is unsure, perhaps these are the words) or into the share of the cousin of Sayyiduna Thabit bin Qais (may Allah be pleased with him). They offered her the option of a contract of manumission. She was a beautiful and attractive woman; whoever saw her would be captivated by her. She came to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) to seek help in paying off her contract of manumission. By Allah! She had just stopped at the door of the chamber when I saw her, and I did not like her, because I realized that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) would also like her in the same way as I did. Juwayriya said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! The situation is as you know. I have made a contract of manumission, and now I have come to seek help from the Messenger of Allah. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: Would you not prefer something better than that? The woman asked: What is that? The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I will marry you and pay your contract of manumission for you. The woman said: That is fine. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then I will do so. Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: When the Muslims heard of this, they said: Now they have become the in-laws of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), so all those who had captives from Banu Mustaliq freed them all. Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: Because of the marriage of Lady Juwayriya (may Allah be pleased with her) to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), one hundred families of Banu Mustaliq were freed. Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: To my knowledge, there is no other woman who proved to be a greater blessing for her people than Lady Juwayriya.
