Hadith 4046
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ زُهَيْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ فَرَاهِيجَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لا يَسْتَامُ الرَّجُلُ عَلَى سَوْمِ أَخِيهِ ، وَلا يَخْطُبُ الرَّجُلُ عَلَى خِطْبَةِ أَخِيهِ ، وَلا تَسْأَلُ الْمَرْأَةَ طَلاقَ أُخْتِهَا لِتَكْتَفِئَ مَا فِي صَحْفَتِهَا " ، قَالَ الشَّيْخُ ابْنُ زَيْدٍ : هَذَا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَزَارِ بَصْرِيٌّ ثِقَةٌ .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No person should bid against the bid of his brother, and no person should send a marriage proposal over the proposal of his brother. No woman should demand the divorce of her sister (i.e., co-wife) so that she may take her share of blessings for herself." The Shaykh states: This narrator named Ibn Zayd is from the people of Mazar; he is a resident of Basra and is trustworthy.
Hadith 4047
أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لا يَخْطُبْ أَحَدُكُمْ عَلَى خِطْبَةِ أَخِيهِ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "No person should send a marriage proposal over the proposal of his brother."
