Hadith 4037
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ النَّسَوِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَى وَهُوَ الْفِطْرِيُّ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ عَمَّتِهِ ، قَالَتْ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيُّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " تُنْكَحُ الْمَرْأَةُ عَلَى مَالِهَا ، وَتُنْكَحُ الْمَرْأَةُ عَلَى جَمَالِهَا ، وَتُنْكَحُ الْمَرْأَةُ عَلَى دِينِهَا ، خُذْ ذَاتَ الدِّينِ ، وَالْخُلُقِ تَرِبَتْ يَمِينُكَ " ، عَمَّتُهُ : زَيْنَبُ بِنْتُ كَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ .
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "A woman is married either for her wealth, or for her beauty, or for her religion, so you should choose the one with religion and good character, may your hands be dusted." (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, states) The paternal aunt of the narrator Sa'id bin Ishaq refers to Zainab, the daughter of Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Ujrah (may Allah be pleased with him).
