Hadith 4028
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الثَّقَفِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفُ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ ، عَنْ حَفْصِ ابْنِ أَخِي أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَأْمُرُ بِالْبَاءَةِ ، وَيَنْهَى عَنِ التَّبَتُّلِ نَهْيًا شَدِيدًا ، وَيَقُولُ : " تَزَوَّجُوا الْوَدُودَ الْوَلُودَ ، فَإِنِّي مُكَاثِرٌ الأَنْبِيَاءَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to command marriage and strictly forbid remaining single. He used to say: Marry loving and fertile women, for I will boast of your numbers before the Prophets on the Day of Resurrection.
