Chapter on Sacrificial Animals – On the Description of What the Prophet Sacrificed in His Hajj
Hadith 4018
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلْمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَاتِمُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ : " أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَاقَ مَعَهُ مِائَةَ بَدَنَةٍ ، فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ إِلَى الْمَنْحَرِ نَحَرَ ثَلاثًا وَسِتِّينَ بِيَدِهِ ، ثُمَّ أَعْطَى عَلِيًّا فَنَحَرَ مَا غَبَرَ مِنْهَا " .
Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq narrates from his father (Imam Baqir) the statement of Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) took one hundred camels with him for sacrifice. When he (peace be upon him) reached the place of sacrifice, he (peace be upon him) sacrificed sixty-three camels with his own blessed hand, and the remaining ones he gave to Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) (so that he may slaughter them).
