Chapter on Sacrificial Animals – On Clarifying That the Prophet Did This While Residing in Medina
Hadith 4010
أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ سَلْمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ : " إِنْ كُنْتُ لأَفْتِلُ قَلائِدَ هَدْيِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَهْدِي ثُمَّ يَبْعَثُ بِالْهَدْيِ ، وَهُوَ مُقِيمٌ عِنْدَنَا بِالْمَدِينَةِ ، ثُمَّ لا يُحْرِمُ ، وَلا يَجْتَنِبُ شَيْئًا مِمَّا يَجْتَنِبُهُ الْمُحْرِمُ " .
Sayyidah Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: I used to prepare garlands for the sacrificial animals of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The Prophet (peace be upon him) would send those sacrificial animals (to Makkah) while he himself stayed with us in Madinah Munawwarah. Then he (peace be upon him) would not observe the restrictions of Ihram, nor would he avoid anything from which a person in Ihram abstains.
