Chapter on Sacrificial Animals – On Permitting a Person to Send His Sacrificial Animal to the Sacred House Even If Not Performing Hajj or Umrah
Hadith 4009
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ قُتَيْبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ مَوْهَبٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، وَعُمْرَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَهْدِي مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ ، فَأَفْتِلُ قَلائِدَ هَدْيِهِ ، ثُمَّ لا يَجْتَنِبُ شَيْئًا مِمَّا يَجْتَنِبُ الْمُحْرِمُ " .
Sayyida Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to send sacrificial animals from Madinah Munawwarah. I myself used to prepare garlands for the sacrificial animals of the Prophet (peace be upon him). After that, the Prophet (peace be upon him) would not avoid anything from which a person in the state of Ihram avoids.
