Chapter on Sacrificial Animals – On the Command for a Group to Share in the Sacrifice of a Camel
Hadith 4004
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَرُوبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا بُنْدَارٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : نَحَرْنَا يَوْمَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ سَبْعِينَ بَدَنَةً ، الْبَدَنَةُ عَنْ سَبْعَةٍ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَشْتَرِكُ النَّفَرُ فِي الْهَدْيِ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: On the day of Hudaybiyyah, we sacrificed seventy camels; one camel was on behalf of seven people. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Some people should share in one sacrifice.
