Chapter on Sacrificial Animals – On What Is Recommended for the Pilgrim Bringing a Sacrificial Animal: Marking and Placing Sandals on It
Hadith 4001
أَخْبَرَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى السَّاجِي ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَسَّانَ الأَعْرَجِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمَّا أَتَى ذَا الْحُلَيْفَةِ أَشْعَرَ الْهَدْيَ فِي جَانِبِ السَّنَامِ الأَيْمَنِ ، ثُمَّ أَمَاطَ الدَّمَ ، وَقَلَّدَهُ نَعْلَيْهِ ، ثُمَّ رَكِبَ رَاحِلَتَهَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَلَمَّا اسْتَوَتْ بِهِ الْبَيْدَاءُ أَحْرَمَ ، وَأَهَلَّ بِالْحَجِّ " .
Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: When the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) reached Dhul-Hulaifah, he marked the right side of the hump of the sacrificial animal, cleaned its blood, put a necklace of shoes on it, then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mounted his ride. When his ride stopped at the place of Bayda, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered into Ihram and began reciting the Talbiyah for Hajj.
