Chapter on Expiation – On the Amount of Food to Be Given to Each Poor Person in the Expiation
Hadith 3984
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ الثَّقَفِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلابَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ ، قَالَ : أَتَى عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ زَمِنُ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ ، وَأَنَا كَثِيرُ الشَّعْرِ ، فَقَالَ : " كَأَنَّ هَوَامُّ رَأْسِكَ تُؤْذِيكَ ؟ " ، فَقُلْتُ : أَجَلْ ، قَالَ : " فَاحْلِقْهُ ، وَاذْبَحْ شَاةً نَسِيكَةً ، أَوْ صُمْ ثَلاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ ، أَوْ تَصَدَّقْ بِثَلاثَةِ آصُعِ تَمْرٍ بَيْنَ سِتَّةِ مَسَاكِينَ " .
Sayyiduna Ka'b bin 'Ujrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: On the occasion of the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to me; my hair was very long. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: Are the lice of your head troubling you? I replied: Yes. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then shave it and offer a sacrifice of a goat, or fast for three days, or give three sa' of dates in charity to six needy people.
