Hadith 3982
Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Ujrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) called me and asked: O Ka'b bin Ujrah! Are the lice on your head causing you trouble? The narrator states: I replied: Yes. So the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ordered me to fast, give charity, or offer a sacrifice—whichever of these was easiest for me (to offer as expiation).
Hadith 3983
Sayyiduna Ka’b bin ‘Ujrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to me—this was at the time of the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah—while I was lighting a fire under my cooking pot and lice were falling onto my face. The narrator says: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked: Are the lice on your head troubling you? I replied: Yes. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Shave your head and fast for three days, or feed six needy people, or sacrifice a sheep. The narrator named Ayyub says: I do not know which of these was mentioned first.
