Hadith 3972
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ الأَشَجِ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ التَّيْمِيِّ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : كُنَّا مَعَ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، فَأُهْدِيَ لَهُ لَحْمُ صَيْدٍ ، وَهُمْ مُحْرِمُونَ ، وَهُوَ رَاقِدٌ ، فَأَبَيْنَا أَنْ نَأْكُلَهُ ، حَتَّى إِذَا اسْتَيْقَظَ قُلْنَا : صَيْدٌ أُهْدِيَ لَكَ ، فَقَالَ : مَا شَأْنُكُمْ لَمْ تَأْكُلُوا ؟ ، قَالُوا : انْتَظَرْنَا حَتَّى نَنْظُرَ مَا تَقُولُ فِيهِ ، قَالَ : " أَكَلْنَا مِثْلَ هَذَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، كُلُوا ، فَأَكَلُوا ، وَأَكَلَ " .
Abdur Rahman bin Uthman Taimi narrates: We were with Sayyiduna Talha bin Ubaidullah (may Allah be pleased with him) when game meat was presented to him. At that time, those people were in the state of Ihram and Sayyiduna Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) was sleeping. (The narrator says) We refused to eat that meat, until when Sayyiduna Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) woke up, we informed him: You were given a gift. Sayyiduna Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) asked: Then what was the reason you did not eat it? The people replied: We were waiting so that we could see what you say about it. So Sayyiduna Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We ate such a thing with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so you all eat as well. (The narrator says) So the people ate it, and Sayyiduna Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) also ate it.
