Chapter on What Is Permitted and Not Permitted for the Muhrim – On Permitting the Muhrim to Kill Harmful Animals
Hadith 3962
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السَّامِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ الْمَقَابِرِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دِينَارٍ مَوْلَى ابْنِ عُمَرَ عُمَرَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " خَمْسٌ مَنْ قَتَلَهُنَّ ، وَهُوَ حَرَامٌ ، فَلا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْهِ ، فِيهِنَّ الْعَقْرَبُ ، وَالْفَأْرَةُ ، وَالْكَلْبُ الْعَقُورُ ، وَالْغُرَابُ ، وَالْحِدَأَةُ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There are five (animals) which, if a person kills them while in the state of Ihram, there is no sin upon him. These include the scorpion, the mouse, the rabid dog, the crow, and the kite.
