Chapter on What Is Permitted and Not Permitted for the Muhrim – On the Reason for This Command
Hadith 3958
أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ سَلْمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، أَنْ عَمْرَو بْنَ دِينَارٍ حَدَّثَهُ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنْ رَجُلا صَرَعَهُ بَعِيرُهُ فَوَقَصَهُ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَلْبِسُوهُ ثَوْبَيْنِ ، وَاغْسِلُوهُ بِمَاءٍ وَسِدْرٍ ، وَلا تُغَطُّوا رَأْسَهُ ، فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ يَبْعَثُهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يُلَبِّي " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: A man's camel threw him down and killed him; that man was in the state of Ihram. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Dress him in two garments, bathe him with water and lote tree leaves, and do not cover his head, for Allah Almighty will resurrect him on the Day of Judgment reciting the Talbiyah."
