Hadith 3938
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو غَسَّانَ يَحْيَى بْنُ كَثِيرٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلالٍ ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ لِي عِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ : أَلا أُحَدِّثُكَ حَدِيثًا لَعَلَّ اللَّهَ أَنْ يَنْفَعَكَ بِهِ : " إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الْحَجِّ وَالْعُمْرَةِ ، وَلَمْ يَنْهَ عَنْهُ ، وَلَمْ يَنْزِلْ فِيهِ ، وَلَمْ يُحَرِّمْهُ ، وَكَانَ يُسَلِّمُ عَلَيَّ ، فَلَمَّا اكْتَوَيْتُ ذَهَبَ ، أَوْ رُفِعَ عَنِّي ، فَلَمَّا تَرَكْتُهُ رَجَعَ إِلَيَّ " .
Mutarrif bin Abdullah narrates: Sayyiduna Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) said to me: Shall I not narrate to you a hadith? Perhaps Allah will benefit you through it. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performed Hajj and Umrah together. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not prohibit it, and no revelation was sent down to him regarding this, nor did he declare it unlawful. (Mutarrif narrates:) He (i.e., Sayyiduna Imran bin Husain, may Allah be pleased with him) used to greet me. When I got myself cauterized, he left me (the narrator is unsure, perhaps these are the words) or got up from me. When I stopped getting cauterized, he started coming to me again.
