Chapter on Tamattu’ – On the Description of What the One Performing Tamattu’ Does Upon Entering Mecca
Hadith 3929
أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ عُمَرَةَ بِنْتِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَنَّهَا ، سَمِعَتْ عَائِشَةَ ، تَقُولُ : خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِخَمْسِ لَيَالٍ بَقِينَ مِنْ ذِي الْقَعْدَةِ ، لا نَرَى إِلا أَنَّهُ الْحَجُّ ، فَلَمَّا دَنَوْنَا مِنْ مَكَّةَ ، " أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ مَعَهُ هَدْيً ، إِذَا طَافَ بِالْبَيْتِ ، وَسَعَى بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ ، أَنْ يَحِلَّ " ، قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ : فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْنَا يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ بِلَحْمِ بَقَرٍ ، فَقُلْتُ : مَا هَذَا ؟ ، قَالَ : " نَحَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ أَزْوَاجِهِ " ، قَالَ يَحْيَى : فَذَكَرْتُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ لِلْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، فَقَالَ : أَتَتْكَ وَاللَّهِ بِالْحَدِيثِ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ .
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: There were five days left in the month of Dhu al-Qi'dah when we set out with the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Our intention was only to perform Hajj. When we reached near Makkah, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) ordered that whoever does not have a sacrificial animal with him, after performing the Tawaf of the House of Allah and the Sa'i between Safa and Marwah, should come out of the state of Ihram. Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: On the days of sacrifice, meat of a cow came to us, so I inquired: Where did this come from? People informed: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has sacrificed (a cow) on behalf of his wives. The narrator named Yahya says: I mentioned this narration before Qasim bin Muhammad, so he said: By Allah! You have narrated the hadith correctly.
