Hadith 3920
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُقْرِئُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَيْوَةُ ، وَذَكَرَ أَبُو يَعْلَى آخَرَ مَعَهُ ، قَالا : سَمِعْنَا يَزِيدَ بْنَ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، يَقُولُ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عِمْرَانَ ، أَنَّهُ حَجَّ مَعَ مَوَالِيهِ ، قَالَ : فَأَتَيْتُ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ، إِنِّي لَمْ أَحُجَّ قَطُّ فَبِأَيِّهِمَا أَبْدَأُ بِالْعُمْرَةِ ، أَمْ بِالْحَجِّ ؟ ، قَالَتِ : ابْدَأْ بِأَيِّهِمَا شِئْتَ ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُ صَفِيَّةَ أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ، فَسَأَلْتُهَا ، فَقَالَتْ لِي مِثْلَ مَا قَالَتْ ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ جِئْتُ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ ، فَأَخْبَرْتُهَا بِقَوْلِ صَفِيَّةَ ، فَقَالَتْ لِي أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " يَا آلَ مُحَمَّدٍ مَنْ حَجَّ مِنْكُمْ فَلْيُهِلَّ بِعُمْرَةٍ فِي حَجَّةٍ " ، قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ : أَبُو عِمْرَانَ هَذَا اسْمُهُ أَسْلَمُ أَبُو عِمْرَانَ مِنْ ثِقَاتِ أَهْلِ مِصْرَ .
Abu Imran narrates: He performed Hajj with his slaves. He narrates: I went to the service of Umm al-Mu'mineen, Sayyida Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her). I said: O Umm al-Mu'mineen! I have never performed Hajj before, so should I begin with Umrah or perform Hajj first? Sayyida Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) said: You may do whichever of the two you wish first. He narrates: Then I went to the service of Umm al-Mu'mineen, Sayyida Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her). I asked her about this matter: she also gave me the same answer that Sayyida Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) had given. He says: Then I went to the service of Sayyida Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her), and I informed her about what Sayyida Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) had said, so Sayyida Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) said to me: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say this: "O household of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)! Whoever among you performs Hajj should also mention Umrah in the Hajj (i.e., recite the Talbiyah for both)." (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The narrator named Abu Imran is Aslam Abu Imran, and he is a trustworthy narrator from Egypt.
