Chapter on Qiran – On the Report Refuting the Claim That the Qarin Must Perform Two Tawafs and Two Sa’is
Hadith 3916
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السَّامِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الدَّرَاوَرْدِيُّ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ جَمَعَ الْحَجَّ وَالْعُمْرَةَ كَفَاهُ لَهُمَا طَوَافٌ وَاحِدٌ ، وَلا يَحِلَّ حَتَّى يَوْمِ النَّحْرِ ، ثُمَّ يَحِلُّ مِنْهُمَا جَمِيعًا " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Whoever combines Hajj and Umrah, then one Tawaf will suffice for both of them, and such a person will not exit the state of Ihram until the day of sacrifice arrives; then he will exit the Ihram for both at the same time."
Hadith 3917
أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ الطَّائِيُّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ : خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَامَ حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ ، فَأَهْلَلْنَا بِعُمْرَةٍ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ كَانَ مَعَهُ هَدْيٌ فَلْيُهْلِلْ بِالْحَجِّ مَعَ الْعُمْرَةِ ، ثُمَّ لا يَحِلَّ حَتَّى يَحِلَّ مِنْهُمَا جَمِيعًا " ، قَالَتْ : فَقَدِمْتُ مَكَّةَ وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ لَمْ أَطُفْ بِالْبَيْتِ ، وَلا بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ ، فَشَكَوْتُ ذَلِكَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " انْقُضِي رَأْسَكِ ، وَامْتَشِطِي ، وَأَهِلِّي بِالْحَجِّ ، وَدَعِي الْعُمْرَةَ " ، قَالَتْ : فَفَعَلْتُ ، فَلَمَّا قَضَيْنَا الْحَجَّ ، أَرْسَلَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَعَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ إِلَى التَّنْعِيمِ ، فَاعْتَمَرْتُ ، فَقَالَ : " هَذِهِ مَكَانُ عُمْرَتِكِ " ، قَالَتْ : فَطَافَ الَّذِينَ أَهَلُّوا بِالْعُمْرَةِ بِالْبَيْتِ وَبَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ ، ثُمَّ حَلُّوا ، ثُمَّ طَافُوا طَوَافًا آخَرَ بَعْدَ أَنْ رَجَعُوا مِنْ مِنًى بِحَجِّهِمْ ، وَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ كَانُوا أَهَلُّوا بِالْحَجِّ وَجَمَعُوا الْحَجَّ وَالْعُمْرَةَ ، فَإِنَّمَا طَافُوا طَوَافًا وَاحِدًا .
Sayyidah Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: On the occasion of the Farewell Hajj, those people set out with the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). We recited the Talbiyah for Umrah, then the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: Whoever has a sacrificial animal with him should recite the Talbiyah for Hajj along with Umrah, then he should not come out of Ihram until he has completed both. Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: When I reached Makkah, I began menstruating. I did not perform the Tawaf of the House (Ka'bah) nor the Sa'i between Safa and Marwah. I complained about this to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), so he said: Untie your hair and comb it, and begin reciting the Talbiyah for Hajj, and leave the Umrah. Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: I did as instructed. When we completed the Hajj, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) sent me with Abdur Rahman bin Abu Bakr to Tan'eem, from where I performed Umrah. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: This has become the place of your Umrah. Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: Those who had recited the Talbiyah for Umrah, after performing the Tawaf of the House and the Sa'i between Safa and Marwah, came out of Ihram. Then, after returning from Mina, they performed Tawaf again for Hajj. As for those who had recited the Talbiyah for Hajj, they combined Hajj and Umrah, so they performed only one Tawaf.
