Section – On Clarifying That a Menstruating Woman Is Allowed to Leave Even If Her Last Act Was Not Tawaf, Provided She Had Performed Tawaf al-Ziyarah
Hadith 3904
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي مَعْشَرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى الْقَطَّانُ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ الْقَاسِمَ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّهَا ، قَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، مَا أَرَى صَفِيَّةَ إِلا حَابِسَتَنَا ، قَالَ : " وَمَا شَأْنُهَا ؟ " ، قَالَتْ : حَاضَتْ ، قَالَ : " أَمَا كَانَتْ أَفَاضَتْ ؟ " ، قُلْتُ : بَلَى ، وَلَكِنَّهَا حَاضَتْ ، قَالَ : " فَلا حَبْسَ عَلَيْهَا فَلْتَنْفِرْ " .
Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: She said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! I think we will have to stay because of Lady Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her)." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, "What has happened to her?" Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) replied, "She has started menstruating." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Has she performed the Tawaf al-Ifadah?" I said, "Yes, but she has started menstruating." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Then it is not necessary for her to stay; she may depart."
