Section – On the Report Indicating That the Ruling for Women in Postnatal Bleeding Is the Same as for Menstruating Women
Hadith 3901
أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، أَنَّ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتَ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ حَدَّثَتْهُ ، أَنَّ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ ، حَدَّثَتْهَا ، قَالَتْ : بَيْنَمَا أَنَا مَضْجِعَةٌ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْخَمِيلَةِ ، إِذْ حِضْتُ فَانْسَلَلْتُ ، فَأَخَذْتُ ثِيَابَ حِيضَتِي ، فَقَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَنَفِسْتِ ؟ " ، قُلْتُ : نَعَمْ ، فَدَعَانِي ، فَأَضْجَعْتُ مَعَهُ فِي الْخَمِيلَةِ .
Sayyida Zainab bint Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: Sayyida Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) told her this: Once I was lying under a blanket with the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and during that time I started menstruating. I got up and left, put on my menstrual clothes (and returned). The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) asked me: "Did you start menstruating?" I replied: "Yes." So the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) called me, and I lay down with him under the blanket.
