Stoning the Jamarat During the Days of Tashreeq – On a Second Report Explicitly Permitting What Was Previously Mentioned
Hadith 3891
أَخْبَرَنَا الْمُفَضَّلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْجَنَدِيُّ بِمَكَّةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ زِيَادٍ اللَّحْجِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو قُرَّةَ مُوسَى بْنُ طَارِقٍ السَّكْسَكِيُّ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ : " أَنَّ الْعَبَّاسَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ اسْتَأْذَنَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَبِيتَ بِمَكَّةَ لَيَالٍ مِنْ أَجْلِ سِقَايَتِهِ ، فَأَذِنَ لَهُ مِنْ أَجْلِ السِّقَايَةِ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates: Sayyiduna Abbas bin Abdul Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him) sought permission from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to spend the nights of Mina in Makkah, because he had to provide (Zamzam water) to the pilgrims. So the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) granted him permission due to his service of providing water.
