Shaving and Sacrifice – On the Command to Sacrifice and Stone for Those Who Shaved and Slaughtered Before Them, with No Sin Upon Them
Hadith 3877
أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ الطَّائِيُّ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، قَالَ : وَقَفَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ بِمِنًى لِلنَّاسِ ، يَسْأَلُونَهُ ، فَجَاءَهُ رَجُلٌ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لَمْ أَشْعُرْ ، فَحَلَقْتُ قَبْلَ أَنْ أَذْبَحَ ؟ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اذْبَحْ وَلا حَرَجَ " ، فَجَاءَهُ رَجُلٌ آخَرُ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، لَمْ أَشْعُرْ فَنَحَرْتُ قَبْلَ أَنْ أَرْمِيَ ؟ ، فَقَالَ : " ارْمِ وَلا حَرَجَ " ، فَمَا سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ شَيْءٍ قُدِّمَ وَلا أُخِّرَ إِلا ، قَالَ : " افْعَلْ وَلا حَرَجَ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: On the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was standing in Mina for the people. People were asking you questions about issues. A man came to you and said: O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)! I did not know and I performed the sacrifice before the stoning. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: Now perform the stoning, there is no harm. (The narrator says:) That day, whenever anyone asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) about doing something before or after its proper time, you would say: Now do it, there is no harm.
