Shaving and Sacrifice – On Permitting the Pilgrim to Sacrifice Before Stoning or Shave Before Sacrificing Without Incurring Sin
Hadith 3876
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ زُهَيْرٍ بِتُسْتَرَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ : " أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سُئِلَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ حَلَقَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَذْبَحَ ، أَوْ ذَبَحَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَرْمِيَ ؟ فَجَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : لا حَرَجَ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: It was asked from the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) about a person who shaves his head before sacrificing (the animal), or who sacrifices the animal before throwing (the pebbles). The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) kept saying: There is no sin in it.
